July 11, court of arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled on the appeal of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation on construction of Vitaly Mutko on a lifelong exclusion from participation in the Olympics in any capacity, reports TASS.
According to information published on the website of the court, appeal against the sentence was granted.
Sanctions were imposed on Deputy Chairman of the Russian government on issues of construction and regional development on 5 December 2017.
The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the basis of the report of the Commission Samuel Schmid concluded that during the Games in Sochi in 2014 were allegedly carried out a deliberate manipulation of the doping tests Russian biathletes.
At the time, Mutko was appointed Minister of sports of Russia, which led to the punishment.
