Tourists one-day will pay a special tax in Venice

May 1, Venice is introducing a new city tax which will be included in the cost of the plane ticket, train or cruise ship. This tax will not have to pay for those tourists who will stay overnight in Venice hotels, as the hotels will charge them tourist tax.

The tax rate will be 3 Euro in 2019, but from 2020 it will grow to 6-10 euros depending on the season, Interfax reported, citing The Guardian. And 2022 tourists wishing to visit Venice, you will have to pre-book the right to enter the city. Those who do not, to get to Venice will be more difficult.

All these measures are designed to control the flow of travelers, from which Venice is literally suffocating. Every year the city receives 30 million visitors. Most of the claims of the authorities of Venice have to tourists coming for one day: they bring the city a little money, but leave behind piles of garbage. Street cleaning will be sent and funds received after the introduction of the new tax.
